Fiber Optic Splicing: Loose Tube & Ribbon
Vertex technicians are certified in both loose tube and ribbon fiber optic fusion splicing — the two dominant cable architectures driving today's hyper-scale data center and long haul backbone construction. From mass fusion ribbon splicing on high-fiber-count cables to precision single-fiber terminations in dense indoor environments, we deliver low-loss splice performance with the documentation to prove it.

Compliant with Telcordia, EIA/TIA, and project-specific splice loss standards
Inside the data hall, precision matters at every level — from how a trunk cable is furcated to how a cabinet is dressed. Vertex brings technical craftsmanship to high-density cable preparation and enclosure work that most fiber contractors treat as an afterthought, delivering installations that perform reliably and support fast, accurate moves-adds-changes throughout the facility lifecycle.

Fiber Infrastructure Management & Audit Services
Vertex offers complete Fiber Infrastructure Management services and believes there is great strength and efficiency in making this a combined scope with network installation services. We build and maintain the complete FIM record: strand assignments, port utilization, cable routes, splice points, and full label compliance to owner standards. Every project closes with a structured, audit-ready package — FIM schedule, verified as-builts, and certified optical test results — giving owners and operators a complete, accurate picture of their fiber plant from day one. We build it, we document it, and we hand it over ready to operate.

Cable Installation
Whether it's placing armored outside plant cable through a buried conduit system or jetting high-fiber-count trunks through microduct in an active data hall, Vertex has the equipment and crews to install cable efficiently, safely, and without damage. Speed and precision at this phase directly protects your schedule and eliminates costly re-pulls downstream.

OSP/ISP Pathway & Enclosure Infrastructure Buildouts
The infrastructure that carries our network install components has to be built right. Vertex constructs the complete OSP/ISP pathway and enclosure systems high-density networks depend on — fiber cabinets, server racks, ladder racks, waterfall management, inner-duct, conduit, RU cans, bulkhead and cassette — We don't just place &splice cable — we build the environment it lives. Within the rapidly innovating data center industry we understand that flexibility and finding creative solutions is a vital component of this scope.

Our Capabilities
Data Center Builds
Hyper-Scale, Colocation, Edge & Enterprise applications.
High-density fiber infrastructure built for the pace and precision hyper-scale demands.
We install backbone trunk systems, MPO/MTP/MMC/LC networks, and structured cabling across massive campus builds — built to spec, tested to certification, and documented to close.
Fiber to the Premises
Last-mile fiber construction from central office to the end subscriber — residential, multi-dwelling, and mixed-use.
We place cable, splice clean, and certify every run so your network activates on schedule and performs from day one.
Long Haul | Backbone Builds
Continuous, high-capacity fiber routes built for carriers and network operators who can't afford gaps in performance.
We manage, cable jetting, aerial placement, and splice closures across extended corridors — built to telco standards with full as-built documentation. We build clean connections as well as visually organized closures.
Consulting & Emergency Services
When the network is down or the design doesn't match the field reality, Vertex responds.
We provide on-site OTDR diagnostics, fault location, emergency splicing, and pre-construction fiber consulting — the technical depth to solve problems fast and design them out permanently.
Network & Pathway Retrofit
As data center technology evolves, the infrastructure inside an active facility has to evolve with it. Vertex provides specialized network retrofit services for hyperscale data centers, carrier facilities, and enterprise environments — upgrading existing fiber plants to support new equipment, higher densities, and next-generation network architectures without compromising the live infrastructure around the work.
Swapping out legacy cable systems, upgrading to higher-count MPO/MTP/MMC trunk infrastructure, replacing patch panels and cassette systems, or extending pathway and enclosure capacity to support facility growth, our crews execute retrofit work with the live-environment discipline these projects demand. Every retrofit is planned around the operational requirements of the facility — minimizing downtime, maintaining strict change control compliance, and documenting every modification through updated as-builts and FIM records so the facility comes out of the project cleaner and better managed than it went in.

Decommissioning Services
When infrastructure reaches end-of-life or a facility is reconfigured, the way fiber assets are decommissioned matters just as much as the way they were originally installed. Vertex provides complete fiber optic decommissioning services — safely removing legacy cable, splice enclosures, patch panels, and pathway components from active and inactive environments while protecting the surrounding infrastructure that remains in service.
Our process includes physical layer verification before removal, structured documentation of every change, proper handling and disposal of recovered materials, and full updates to the facility's FIM and as-built records so nothing is left undocumented or unaccounted for. Done right, decommissioning is more than just removal — it's the disciplined reset that allows a facility to reclaim capacity, reduce operational risk, and prepare for the next phase of its lifecycle with a clean, accurate physical layer record.

Our Onboarding Process
Customer Onboarding
We start by understanding your project standards, documentation requirements, and expectations before anything else. Getting aligned upfront is how we eliminate friction downstream.
Pre-Construction Approvals & Planning
Scope review, site walk, safety plan submission, and trade coordination — all handled before mobilization. We don't show up to figure it out. We show up ready to build.
Project Estimates & Workforce Allocation
Detailed labor and material estimates built around your actual schedule and sequencing needs. We staff to the work, not the other way around — so your fiber scope never becomes a bottleneck.
Pilot Projects Completed
Every new client relationship starts with a pilot — a focused scope where we prove our quality, our communication, and our documentation standards before scaling. We earn the larger work by delivering on the smaller work first.
